This policy explains how Antoine CAZALS, sole trader, processes your personal data on zodiane.com, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act. Our principle: we collect the minimum, sell nothing, and run no advertising or tracking tools on the site.
1. Controller

2. Data processed
Browsing: technical connection data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) recorded in the host’s logs for security and operation.
Free tools: birth details entered (date, time, place) are processed instantly for the calculation and not stored unless you create an account. The text typed in the city search is sent to the geocoding service to suggest places.
Account: email address, first name, birth details (date, time, place, coordinates, time zone), language.
Orders: first name, birth details (and, for the couple reading, those of the second person), email address, product ordered, timestamp of acceptance of the terms and waiver of withdrawal, Stripe payment and customer identifiers. We never receive your full card number.
Subscription: status, renewal date, Stripe identifiers.
Free newsletter: email address, chosen sign, language, sign-up and confirmation dates, sign-up page.
Gift reading: recipient’s email address and the buyer’s message, used only to deliver the reading.
Correspondence: the content of your messages.
Birth data is not a special category of data under article 9 GDPR. We never ask for health, origin, religion or opinion data.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Providing the tools, readings and personal horoscope, managing your account and sending sign-in links and readings: performance of the contract (article 6.1.b GDPR).
Sending the daily personal horoscope email to subscribers: performance of the contract; you can stop it by cancelling the subscription.
Invoicing, accounting and proof of transactions: legal obligation (article 6.1.c).
Site security and prevention of fraud and abuse: legitimate interest (article 6.1.f).
Answering your requests: legitimate interest or pre-contractual steps.
Reminding yearly subscribers of their renewal date: legal obligation (article L215-1 of the French Consumer Code).
Sending, at most once a month, an offer related to our services (for example on your birthday): consent given when subscribing to the newsletter or, for customers, legitimate interest regarding similar products (article L34-5 of the French Postal and Electronic Communications Code), with a one-click opt-out in every email.
Sending the free newsletter (today’s horoscope for your sign): consent (article 6.1.a GDPR), collected by double opt-in (confirmation link sent by email). You can withdraw it at any time, in one click, with the link in every email or from “My account”.
No marketing without your consent, no advertising profiling and no automated decision producing legal effects (article 22 GDPR).
4. Third-party data
If you order a couple reading or use kundli matching, you undertake to have informed the other person and obtained their consent. This data is used only to produce the requested reading.
5. Recipients and processors
Your data is accessible to the publisher and its technical processors acting on its instructions under agreements compliant with article 28 GDPR:
Vercel Inc. (hosting, United States);
Upstash, Inc. (account and reading database; European hosting region recommended);
Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (payments, Ireland), also acting as an independent controller for its own anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering obligations;
Resend (email delivery, United States);
Anthropic, PBC (AI-assisted writing: only the first name, calculated positions and necessary birth details are sent; under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not by default use data sent through its API to train its models);
Photon (OpenStreetMap) (geocoding: only the typed city name is sent, from our servers).
Your data is never sold, rented or transferred for commercial purposes.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Some processors are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies or, failing that, on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses with supplementary security measures.
7. Retention periods
Account and birth data: for the life of the account, then deleted after three years without sign-in or purchase.
Purchased readings: for the life of the account; without an account, three years from purchase so you can access them again.
Accounting records and proof of transactions: ten years (article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code).
Sign-in links: fifteen minutes, single use. Session cookie: ninety days. Daily personal horoscope: thirty-six hours in cache.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; an unconfirmed sign-up request is deleted after three days. Form anti-abuse counters: twenty-four hours at most.
Technical logs: limited period set by the host for security. Data entered in tools without an account: not stored.
8. Security
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), no password to steal, signed session cookie inaccessible to scripts, single-use time-limited sign-in links, restricted access to data, PCI-DSS certified payment providers.
9. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to give instructions on what happens to your data after your death.
From “My account”, you can download all your data (JSON) and permanently delete your account, readings and subscription at any time.
For any other request: contact@zodiane.com. We reply within one month and may ask for proof of identity in case of reasonable doubt.
You may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, www.cnil.fr) or the authority of your country of residence.
10. Minors
The site is not intended for children. Accounts are reserved for people aged 15 or over. Purchases are reserved for adults or minors authorised by their legal guardian.
12. Changes
This policy may change; the update date is shown at the top. Account holders are informed of material changes by email.
